2011. Greece, Italy.

For months, for years, constantly on the move. Rejected, invisible, on the fringes. Who are the thousands of foreigners that populated Greek streets and harbours in the last few years? Some people call them immigrants, strangers, refugees. Some other call them Asians, Arabs, Kurdish, Africans, or simply “them”.

“One of them” explores the experiences of these invisible people: “One of Them” is Jalal, the young Kurdish activist who left Iraq to enjoy human rights in Europe; “One of Them” is Yunous, the Afghan doctor who founded a school for refugees in Athens; “One of Them” is Siad, the Sudanese petroleum engineer who is traveling to England, hoping to reach his wife and children.

Stuck in Greece because of the EU immigration laws, these people have a chance, for the first time since they left home, to express themselves: interviewed in the Jungle of Igoumenitsa, on the banks of a stream in Patra or in the filthy suburbs of Athens, they make deep considerations on topics such as human rights, European closure, Western values.

Coming soon.
